Interview with a Girl Gamer.
After reading an article on how the female gamers feel on Digg I decided to find out some more from straight from the people that were affected and found the girlz clan, a girl only clan - hence the name - that plays all type of games. [*Girlz*] Trinity kindly offered to do an interview with me:
Sam: First off, what games do you play?
Trinity: Hmm okay, well I usually spend most of my time on the computer playing counter strike 1.6, cz, runescape and umm.. other than that no other compy games unless you count solitaire :P! any who, i also play nintendo 64 (Lol, so old but old school is the best!) and um, we have I think a playstation 1, ps2, xbox, xbox360, gamecube. Most of the games I play on it is something to do with fps or any type of shooting game, though we do have a lot of skating and racing games
Sam: If you’re pubbing in a game do you generally think you get treated differently from the other people in the server for being a girl?
Trinity: Actually, sometimes I do first thing some guys say is “are you hot?” or “hey cutie, do you have a myspace?” so i just ignore them pretty much
Sam: My sex is sorry 
Trinity: Oh no, don’t worry about it, I know not all guys are that way, some are actually really nice and the only question that really pops up is “are you really a girl?”.
Sam: How does it affect your social life as a girl (if at all)
Trinity: I don’t think it affects me at all really. The social life and the gaming life are two seperate things for me. Social life, I can’t just go get mad at someone for saying something to me, grab out a m4 and headshot them. course not. lol.
Sam: Shame that!
Trinity: Lol, yeah it’d be great if I could do that, so long as there’s a respawn of course.
Sam: Do people get surprised when you tell them you play games often?
Trinity: Yeah, my bf was pretty surprised when he found out I played runescape lol or any other game. I guess, it’s the way I was labeled, you know.. with that whole high school label thing. I don’t think anyone would’ve guessed that I love games.
Sam: How many members does your clan have?
Trinity: About 14, but there’s 3 who are inactive.
Sam: Do you find it hard finding new clan members?
Trinity: well, usually, anyone who wants to be recruited are recruited easily. we’re a really friendly bunch. It’s just the matter of making sure their females *not to be sexist*
Sam: Well they have to live up to the name don’t they!
Trinity: lol, yes.
Sam: Do you play competitively in CAL/TWL/ED?
Trinity: Hmm.. I haven’t played a match for TWL but i am in it with the girlz I’m also in cal with the girlz but i don’t play too much due to my location.
Sam: Ok, I think I’m all out of questions! Is there any message you want to send out?
Trinity: All right, hmm.. Girlz can kick just as much butt as any other guy out there! haha
