Bioshock … just before release

Friday, August 17th, 2007

My friend JW at Xbox360rally is pissed …well that might be an understatement. You know the super hyped game Bioshock that I have nagged about one or two times (Now that’s an understatement). Some punks are selling the 360 version at EBay even though it has its release the 21: Th august …

If you are thinking of buying the game on eBay …please read JW’s note to you and for heaven sake buy the guy a copy to …I know you can afford it …

From JW’s letter: I understand perfectly your desire to get your hands on BioShock. Believe me. But use your [darn tootin’] head here: It’ll be out on the 21st. You already have money put down on the same damn game, so in reality it will cost you LESS to just finish off that pre-order payment than it would be to buy it off eBay.

Read the whole thing at 360rally.com

Just so you know …the final iteration of the official BioShock Website is now live! Click over to www.bioshockgame.com to dive into the fully functional online world of Rapture, and there should be a demo out today … I will update as soon as I see it

With retailer breaking the BioShock street date, some lucky bastards have picked up the game, you got to hate them, sure you do … and just to tempt you a little more here is a video showing a glitch in the BioShock demo that lets players jump through glass and walk underwater.
I’m going to have to go try this. …

The game will be in stores the 21th of August …it’s less than a week guys so patience …

And here is what 2K Australia Ken Levine says about the game:

First of all, it’s really one of those games where you’ll want to save often — not because you die constantly, but because you’re going to want to replay rooms to try things a different way.

Painkiller on silver screen

Thursday, August 2nd, 2007

medium_painkillerpic.jpg

Variety reports that a man stuck between heaven and hell will come to the movies across the world … soon. Oh yes I am talking about the First Person shooter Painkiller that is latest to get the Hollywood make-over. C’mon guys stop doing movies of games …it doesn’t work and if it does its so rare that its not wort it …

The game is being brought to the movies by the team behind up coming Eddie Murphy film Starship Dave, written by Mystery Science Theatre 3000 scribe Bill Corbett and some other guy.

Why a Painkiller flick? After movie producer Jon Berg (Elf) saw the title on a 60 Minutes segment last year about competitive gaming (the one with fatal1ty), he decided to pursue the film rights.

The Painkiller adaptation will be penned new comer Ben McGaw let’s hope he doesn’t set his eyes at Uwe boll when it comes to directing the movie …

This will be the fourth installment in the CODseries and the first not to be set during WWII, we are all thankfull for that… also Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare has been announced to have a new mode called Hardcore Mode. In Hardcore Mode, a single shot in the chest, heart, etc. can kill, while getting shot in the leg will cause the player’s character to fall down.

BlackSite: Area 51

Tuesday, July 17th, 2007

With some of the past successes of the project lead in mind and Unreal Engine 3 in tow, Blacksite: Area 51 could shape up to be one of the more exciting action titles.

Hopefully, and I don’t rally doubt it when I watch this awesome video showing how you can fly in close and unleash everything you’ve got on the terrifying Flathead.
