Most ugly FPS 2008?

Friday, December 28th, 2007

Hope you guys had a lovely Christmas with much fun, good food and gaming. Today, just course you are so special ..or maybe course it is a few days after Christmas. I will show you the first screenies ever from Gumpanela Entertainment´s FPS/RTS game Refusion…

“We are very proud of the progress we have made,” said Ondrej Urban, founder of Gumpanela Entertainment. “Our artists and programmers have created a huge living game world in which both classes - Masters (RTS players) and Fighters (FPS players) - confront not only opposing forces but also deadly creatures and an unforgiving environment.

We believe that this exciting feature deserves the necessary time and resources to make it the best it can be. We have therefore decided to postpone the release of Refusion until the Summer of 2008.”

Maybe the gamingcomunity is thankfull for that …look at this junk …oh sorry screenshots, if you dare …

PCgames.de are reporting about an new unannounced Next-Gen RPG made by Spellbound. You guys know the studio that made Gothic 1, Gothic 2, and Gothic III. And therefore the new RPG has been mistaken as Gothic 4, but a JoWooD forum moderator has pointed out that’s not the case. For now, it’s a mystery RPG in work for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.

MTV Starts Virtual World

Tuesday, December 11th, 2007

MTV, formerly known as a music video channel, has announced German and Asian partnerships with 10Tacle Studios to create a virtual world.
The “music” network already has substantial proof of concept in this space, having successfully brought two of its properties - Virtual Laguna Beach and Virtual Hills - to the There.com platform.
Does this signal a move away from the Makena Technology company?

From the release:

” Starting in 2008, the multi-user 3D online world will give Internet users access to, among other things, the classic content offered by the MTV Group, while offering a large number of online games. 10TACLE STUDIOS AG, Europe’s largest developer and producer of high-end computer and video games, will handle the technical implementation and operation of the multi-user 3D online world. MTV, whose popular content is available on all platforms relevant to its target groups, such as TV, online, broadband and mobile, will be responsible for target group communication and the editorial preparation of the content. “

Most (ub)dangerous games for kid´s

Monday, December 10th, 2007

Anybody can put together a list of games that parents shouldn’t buy their young children for Christmas. Well, excuse me not everybody, I told you a few days ago about the top Prosecutor Kym Worthy’s list of outdated NONO-games!
Honestly the most dangerous thing with that list is not that your kid becomes violent, it’s more likely that you bore him/her to death with games like killer 7 and Manhunt1.

Anyway, this may sound a bit better; this is a list of highly recommended kid’s games. Games you should buy according to Game Life >>

Because we all are a bit like sheep

Sunday, December 9th, 2007

“Because we all are a bit like sheep” Yeah that is how Jean-Claude Van Damme explains the sheep spell in World of Warcraft, sort of!
Here is the new commercial in the “What is your game series” from Blizzard.
If you don’t understand French this is the translation:

Van Damme plays as a Troll Mage.

“My name is Jean-Claude Van Damme… and I am a mage.”

“Hand-to-hand combat for me: it’s over!”

“Now I can cast powerful spells!”

“Just try messing with me… I’ll turn you into a sheep.”

“A sheep!”

…Because we all are a bit like sheep, you know…”

“I am Jean-Claude Van Damme, I am a mage.

“And you?”

“What’s your game?”

And by the way, dont forget to buy this cool Laptop (From Dell) to your fiance for Christmas … a dream for every World of Warcraft nerd …

Detroit Prosecutor Issues (outdated) List of 10 Violent Games to Avoid For the Holidays

Thursday, December 6th, 2007

OMG … you know that Detroit is the second most dangerous city in America, according to 2006 crime statistics. I really think they should allow their kids to play more games instead of running round the streets fighting. Anyway, according to gamepolitics.com the top Prosecutor Kym Worthy thinks violent video games may play a role. Worthy has issued her 3rd annual list of the Top 10 Most Violent Games. And gamers around the world will understand …nothing. The list is so out of date that a rotten pear will feel fresh if you compare them.

It won’t be especially difficult for parents to avoid purchasing the games on Worthy’s Top 10 List, here it is >>

1. Grand Theft Auto
2. Manhunt ( we assume she mean 2007’s Manhunt 2)
3. Scarface
4. 50 Cent Bulletproof
5. 300 (I havent even heard of the game ..I saw the movie thou)
6. The Godfather
7. Killer-7
8. Resident Evil 4
9. God of War (GoW2?)
10. Hitman Blood Money

Of the titles worthy said:

It’s no wonder we’re seeing the crimes we’re seeing lately… Please do not buy these video games and bring them into your home. It desensitizes [children] to violent acts. Well avoiding them would probably not be a problem … Avoiding such stupid list on the other hand …

Who is your favorite lawyer?
Well mine is certainly not Jack Thompsson. And after this he is even more on my ./ignore list than he ever was. You maybe heard of Spencer Halpin’s upcoming hullabaioo documentary film Moral Kombat. The film that takes on videogames violency and blames that videogames caused the 9/11 incident.
Jack Thompson is widely known of his crusade against video gaming and this documentary film where he is under the spotlight, will surely give him a new kick for his crusade as well as a lot of negtive publicity from the gaming community.
Well the film features Jack Thompson and is even predicting ten times of worse school massacre.
